It is often said that cooking is an art and baking is a science. One certainly requires hard skills in cooking and creative skills in baking. When cooking a dish, one could taste and keep adjusting as needed while baking should be precise and proper recipe must be followed to ensure success, or else your cakes will turn rough, your cookies will spread and your pie crust will be hard.However, following are the tips with which you don’t need to be intimidated by baking and relish doing so.


Baking Tips for Beginners:

1. Read the recipe carefully: The most important aspect is to understand the steps and the equipment before beginning. 

2. Measure accurately: Measurements are essential for success in baking. Make use you use measuring spoons and cups for significant assistance. 

3. Temperature of the ingredients: Wrong temperature of ingredients like butter and milk can destroy the batter. Room temperature ingredients will mix more easily and evenly. 

4. Do not over-mix: Over-mixing can lead to dense baked goods, mix only till all ingredients are combined and then stop. 

5. Right equipment: Assure you have the right tools and recipe before you begin. 



Tips for Intermediate bakers:

1. High quality ingredients: Ingredients of good quality are essential for a better product.

2. Practice the techniques: Conventional techniques such as creaming, folding, kneading is essential for successful baking.

3. Be fearless with experiments: Experiment with different ingredients and techniques to create your own unique recipes once you’re comfortable with baking.

4. Substitute sensibly: Running out of some ingredient or being allergic to any, alternative ingredients should be used carefully, as they may create texture difference 


Tips for Advanced bakers:

1. Science of baking: Understanding baking can help troubleshoot problems and adjust recipes along with understanding reactions amongst ingredients and effects of heat.

2. Try new recipes: Push yourself to try new recipes and challenging techniques like making croissants and macaroons.

3. Experiment with new flavours: Experiment with different types of flavours each have its own unique properties to achieve various textures.

4. Pay attention to detail: Paying attention to ingredients, recipes and baking times is essential for successful baking.
